Splinter Cell Blacklist
28 October, 2021: By Ajoy Maitra

It has been long eight years since the release of Splinter Cell Blacklist in 2013, we have not heard any such reveal of the next Splinter Cell game, from Ubisoft.

The most favourite of all the tactical espionage shooters, Splinter Cell series has always been an attraction for gamers. Previously, Ubisoft had disappointed the gamers with the release of Splinter Cell in Oculus VR. It was indeed a bad decision by Yves Guillemot, CEO of Ubisoft, as he wanted the series to make a new turn by evolving through the use of latest technology.

When you create a game, you have to make sure you will come with something that will be different enough from what you did before.

However, according to the latest development sources, the sequel to the game has been put to production as a main entry in the series, after all the frustrations of it's fans against playing it in mobile or in VR.

Tom Clancy's game brand has always promoted Ubisoft in providing the most excting titles of all as in: Splinter Cell, Ghost Recon and others. As noted by the CEO, Yves Guillemot,

The first one that changed the lot of the company was Splinter Cell. We went for the Xbox, and it was a complex bet, and a dangerous bet because they didn't have many machines [out there]. Launching on that machine and not PlayStation at the time was a bit risky, but we couldn't go straight on PlayStation. We wanted to use the capacity of the [Xbox]. We did very well on Xbox. We hit probably 50 percent of the install base.

The latest title of Splinter Cell would be different from its predecessors and no serious reveals have yet been made due to its early production stage.

In the recent gaming titles released by most of the developers, multiplayer and co-op are now prioritized with an exclusive content of survival or battle royale. Similar to such, Ubisoft have launched a test release of Tom Clancy's XDefiant - free-to-play, fast-paced arena shooter that combines intense gunplay with personalized loadouts and specialized factions.

Though the Splinter Cell's main protagonist, Sam Fisher has given guest appearences in many other Ubisoft titles, it is now high time to fulfil the un-ending wait of gamers.
